If you're looking for something that covers a whole lot of my creature feature enthusiasms, here it is. This is who I am.

Some of these stories are earlier workings out of ideas that later came along in the S-Squad series. (A large chunk of the story DISCONTINUITY turned up directly in INFESTATION.) This volume can be seen in a way as a companion piece to the Scottish squaddies' adventures. Indeed there's a story in here, INTO THE VALLEY OF DEATH, that might even feature an earlier, Victorian iteration of the squad. And IN THE GYRE povided me with an opening backdrop for another novel, THE CREEPING KELP.
